"The Way I See It"
Anyone can simply exist, but only some strive to experience. By experience I mean, observing or participating in events that lead to the acquisition of new skills and knowledge. Instead of just getting by or passing the time, we should all make the most of our existence by seeking new experiences.

I am a firm believer in the idea that you learn something new every single day, for as long as you live. The problem with this lies in the fact that people do not open their eyes and realize what a gift they are being given everyday. I completely agree that many people float through life, and while this can be done without effort it makes for a very lackluster time on earth.
ReplyDeleteThe more you put yourself out there, the more you're introduced to new experiences, new people, new perspectives and consequentially that leads to knowledge. I agree that if you settle for doing the least amount of work, in and outside academia, your laziness will haunt you later when you've realized you haven't lived and explored.
ReplyDeleteWow!!! This was awesome. It was simple, sweet and to the point. How much more can be said. As short and to the point as it was, it was also very true. Nicely said. I can say it definitely made me think about my existence.
ReplyDeleteI love it... because I'm one of those people who always has to try something new at least once. I think that you only live one life (at least that's what I believe), do something great with it-- learn and experience anything and everything. Hopefully one day when I'm old, I can say I've truly exeperience life.
ReplyDeleteThis really rings true with me. I went to a new high school where I didn't know anyone and I never made the effort to either. I just floated by, doing the minimum that I had to and I missed out on many different experiences because of that. When I went to college out of state, I made sure not to make that mistake twice. And I thank God that I stepped up. It makes a world of difference.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever seen the movie "Yes Man?" I just saw this movie the other night and it is all about what you are saying. When given an opportunity in life, why turn it down? What could go wrong? What is there to loose? I feel that each opportunity given is a lesson and memory waiting to happen. :)
